Checklist for college

We talked about school but we didn't get a chance to talk about college. Many of you are going to college this year and if you are still wondering what you'll need for college, I'm going to make a little list of items you MUST have for a perfect college experiance.

I'm also going to give you a little advice for the college freshmen. Next year is going to be my first year of college and although I don't have a big experiance, I'm very excited and I already have created a list of things that will help me trough the first year.

Ok let't start with the things you'll need:

1.Bathrobe
Most dorm rooms don't afford you the luxury of a private bathroom, so invest in a stylish and comfy bathrobe for the trek down the hallway to the shower.
2. Storage Bins
Since dorm rooms are notoriously tiny, storage saves you lots of space, and gets some of your clutter out of sight! Look for cute cloth or woven options instead of the plastic ones, so you can fold them down when you're not using them.
3. Mini-Fridge
This one is my personal favourite!! Having a mini-fridge in your room is essential—you'll never have to visit the vending machine for a cold soda, and you can breakfast in bed! (Cold milk for cereal? Such a bonus.)
4.Tupperware
Raid mom's stash of Tupperware before you leave—it's a must-have for any dorm dweller. Bring them to the cafeteria and stock up on leftovers, or just use them as dishes when you're in need of a bowl for your morning cereal.
5. Pop-Up Laundry Hamper
Having a sturdy hamper will save your life when lugging weeks' worth of dirty clothes to the dorm laundry room (which will proably be in the basement). Try to get one that folds, so you can easily store it.

6. Extension Cord And Power Strip
Between your computer, printer, alarm clock, cell phone charger, and lamps (not to mention hairdryers and curling irons), there are a ton of electronics plugged into a dorm room. To make sure you're all powered up and able to use your gadgets, bring along a couple of extension cords and a power strip.
7.Shower Caddy
Don't worry about transporting all your toiletries from dorm room to bathroom! Pick up a handy shower caddy that's big enough to hold your essentials. It will be super convenient to have all your products in one place.
8. Flip-flops
Flip-flops are a must if you're living in a dorm. Slip them on when you're trekking to the basement to do laundry, wear them in the shower, and throw them on when you run down the hall to chat with your floormates. You'll get a ton of use out of them!
9.Mini Reading Light
Avoid a fight with your roomie about keeping the light on late at night when she's trying to sleep, and catch up on your reading for class with a mini light instead.
10. Tablet ! (the most useful of all)
Sure, it’s a splurge, but you can put all of your reading packets and PDFs on here (and score a lot of required reading for English classes on the free books app). It’ll be way easier to get your reading done for class, plus it'll be so much lighter to lug around campus than your laptop!

College freshmen tips:
1. Maintain a budget
You'll find it much easier to keep track of all your spendings. That way you'll be able to avoid having no money at one point and you can also save some.

2.Less Is More When Packing for College
Having to choose what to bring to college can be stressful. You should remember that you are moving into a small space with little storag and bring only the most needed things!

3.Get Along With Roommates
One major transition for many college students is adjusting to sharing a small space with other people. Roommates may be able to avoid issues if ground rules are set from the beginning

4. Be Proactive About Fighting College Stress
There are many things that can pressure new college students: making friends, doing well in class, and enhancing their résumé, to name a few. But you may be able to alleviate that stress by getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, or seeking out counseling services on campus.

5. Consider Greek Life
Freshmen who are worried about making friends on campus could consider joining a fraternity or sorority. Greek life exposes students to formal dances, intramural sports, and philanthropic projects, to name a few. But before joining, students should consider the pros and cons of Greek life.

6.Find Cheap College Textbooks
Full-time students spent an average of $655 on required course materials during the 2010-2011 school year, according to the National Association of College Stores. Before freshmenpurchase textbooks at college bookstores, they should consider renting.

7. Use Technology to Manage College Life
There are a lot of obligations and events on a college student’s plate and it can become overwhelming to manage. Innovations in education technology have opened the door for students to more easily organize their daily activities through new mobile apps available on both Apple and Android devices.

Hope this helps guys. Tell me what is in your checklist for college in the comments bellow!

xoxo

Annie
